The Midland region is represented by all the communities from the bottom of the Bombay Hills in the North to Taranaki Maunga in the West, across to Bay of Plenty including Whakatane and Tauranga, over to the East Coast down to in Gisborne and also Rotorua, Taupo and Turangi. The five district health boards provide healthcare and workforce programmes in the Midland region:
